Every stray deserves a chance to heal, thrive, and find safety.
Through compassion, community action, and a commitment to care, we’re creating a brighter future for animals in need.
Our Story
Founded in 2016 by Dr Lucy Haurisa, the shelter began as a deeply personal mission to help stray animals she encountered on her daily commute. Driven by compassion and inspired by the incredible transformations she witnessed in animals rescued from the dangers of the streets, Dr Haurisa started the shelter on her own as a safe haven where animals could heal and thrive. Over the years, the shelter has developed vital skills in areas such as neonatal care, end of life support, and emergency treatments to ensure the animals receive the personalised help they need. Today, Kingdom Kitties embodies the power of kindness, offering animals a second chance and building a stronger, more compassionate community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to reduce the suffering of stray animals and work towards a future with fewer litters born into hardship. We are committed to facing the challenges of this work with courage and compassion, taking both small and significant steps to create meaningful change. By providing care, support, and action, we strive to improve the lives of strays while inspiring others to join us in making a difference.
Our Vision
Our vision is a future with fewer stray animals, where compassion and responsibility are deeply rooted in the community. We aim to inspire others to step up, take action, and embrace a culture of courage and accountability when it comes to helping animals in need. Together, we envision a strong network of individuals supporting one another to create lasting change and a brighter future for animals and the people who care for them.
"Compassion isn’t about doing everything; it’s about doing something. When we all take small, meaningful steps, together we can create a kinder world for animals and each other.” Dr Lucy Haurisa
Our Values
Compassion: At the heart of everything we do, compassion drives us to care for animals in need and to inspire kindness in others.
Alignment: We believe in staying true to our values, ensuring that our actions reflect our mission to create a positive impact.
Community Effort: We embrace the idea that if more people do a little, together we can achieve a great deal. By working collectively, we can create a more balanced and healthy environment for both animals and people.
These values shape our approach, reminding us that small actions can lead to meaningful change when guided by integrity and shared purpose.
